Youth Ministries - Pastors and Leaders Retreat 2010
Tuesday 17 April 2007, by Normand Charlebois
A message to our pastors from Normand Charlebois, our Quebec District Youth Ministries Director:
Last year, we shared with you that our time of spiritual renewal for youth pastors and leaders would be split into two groups: a retreat for youth pastors only and, the following year, another including all youth group leaders (members of committees and all other participants that the local youth pastor would consider to be a potential leader).
Our experience this past year with the first group was so well received and successful that our provincial Committee has decided to keep the same concept for this coming year. This being said, the training of our leaders has always been important to me; as of 2010, it will be the priority of our Youth Ministries.
We do believe that, in order to have spiritually healthy young people in our province, their leaders need to be well equipped. However, we certainly do not want to neglect our other leaders (members of our committees and others). This is why we will hold in 2010 training days for which we will give you dates in the coming weeks.
We invite pastors and leaders in charge of a youth group, along with their spouse, to attend our next TIME OUT | TEMPS D’ARRÊT that will be held February 5th to 7th, 2010. Our guest speaker will be our new Superintendent, Reverend Michel Bisaillon, which is an extra reason to be there so they can hear what Pastor Michel will have on his heart to share with us.
Again this year, let me suggest that your church could cover the expenses for this retreat especially designed for them. Every year, we are sorry to hear that several cannot attend because of lack of finances. This is a great opportunity for your church to demonstrate her appreciation for her youth pastor and his spouse.
I sincerely believe that this time of refreshment will be extremely beneficial, or even essential, for your youth pastor and his spouse. I would encourage you to insist that they be present.
Thank you for your cooperation and may God bless you.
